Shimla, Dec 25: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister designate Jai Ram Thakur on Monday distributed fruits to the children and patients at Deen Dayal Upadhaya hospital, Shimla on the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. 
He also announced a digital x-ray machine for the hospital. 
Accompanied by MLAs Rajeev Bindal, Suresh Bhardwaj, Vinod Kumar and MP Ram Swaroop Sharma, the Chief Minister reached the hospital at 1100 hrs and went straight to the children ward. He also met other patients in the hospital and enquired about their well being. 
He paid courtesy visit to Raj Bhavan and met Governor Acharaya Devvrat and held discussions with him too. 
He later took stock of the arrangements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit for the oath taking ceremony on December 27 at historic Ridge. 
Later, Mr Thakur also met blood donors in the blood donation camp organised by Umang Foundation at Ridge. UNI
