New Delhi, Dec 15: A restive Opposition on Friday created uproar in the Rajya Sabha over the disqualification of Mr Sharad Yadav and Mr Ali Anwar Ansari and the charges levelled against former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of conspiring with Pakistan, forcing two adjournments of the proceedings.
The Upper House was adjourned first till 1200 hrs and later till 1430 hrs.
Pandemonium broke out after members of the Opposition parties, including the Congress, sought to raise their objections over the disqualification of Mr Yadav and Mr Ansari, but were denied permission by Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu who said the ruling of the Chair could not be challenged.
'The ruling of the Chairman cannot be challenged. It is not a matter of discussion,' Mr Naidu said even as Samajwadi Party's Naresh Aggarwal and then Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi  Azad sought to raise their objections over the disqualification of the two members.
Dissatisfied over the Chair's ruling, members of the Congress and the Samajwadi Party entered the well of the House, shouting that dictatorship would not be tolerated.
Amid the uproar, the Chairman sought to conduct the proceedings of the Zero Hour. However, nothing could be heard in the din.
When the bedlam continued, the Chairman adjourned the House till 1200 hrs. UNI
