New Delhi, Dec 25: Slamming the Centre for not inviting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the inauguration of the Botanical Garden -Kalkaji Mandir section of the Delhi Metro, Aam Aadmi party leader and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday alleged that it was an insult of the people of the state.
In a post on social media, Mr Sisodia alleged that Mr Kejriwal was not invited because the Central government feared that Mr Kejriwal would raise the demand for reducing fares of the Metro.
'Without inviting the Delhi Chief Minister, the inauguration of Delhi metro line is an insult of the people of Delhi. There is just one reason for not inviting the Delhi CM. They (Centre) feared that Mr Kejriwal would raise with the Prime Minister the demand for reducing fares of the Metro,' Mr Sisodia said.
The PM on Monday inaugurated the Botanical Garden -Kalkaji Mandir section of the Delhi Metro which connects Noida with Faridabad.
Earlier, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh on Monday lashed out at the central government for snubbing Mr Kejriwal.
'This depicts the personal enmity of the central government with the Delhi Chief Minister,' he said.
He further pointed that a similar situation had occurred during the inauguration of the Faridabad corridor of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. UNI
