JAMMU, DECEMBER 21: The Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and MLA
Gandhi Nagar Constituency, Kavinder Gupta today inaugurated 250 KVA Transformer
here at Ward No. 58 opposite Digiana Ashram.
On
the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that with the installation of this
Transformer a long pending demand of local people has been fulfilled. He hoped
that upgraded facility would help to improve power supply scenario in the area.
He
said PDD has made all arrangements to replace old and damaged transformers from
the Gandhi Nagar Constituency within shortest
possible time.
Kavinder Gupta said that the present government has started a new phase of
development in the state especially in neglected and underdeveloped areas. He
said that a number of road macademization and up gradation works have been
taken up with special thrust on the use of quality material.
Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta also convened a public meeting to listen to people’s grievances and demands. He sought close
cooperation of the people of the area to expedite the ongoing development works
started by different agencies in the area. He assured the people that no
compromise would be made in the use of quality material.
The
locals sought construction and beautification of parks, construction and
up-gradation of lanes and drains, replacement of old electric poles and wires,
repair and installation of street lights, hassle free distribution of ration
cards, old age and widow pension, safe drinking water, improved sanitation
including daily garbage lifting and installation of lights along sub-way of
Digiana Ashram.
Kavinder Gupta gave a patient hearing and assured the locals that their genuine
demands would be taken up with the concerned authorities for early redress.
Responding to the demands, the Speaker assured locals that a special camp would
be held in all areas to listen to issues of locals including
verification of ration cards and other related matters.
Among others present were concerned Officers of PDD, Ex-Councilor, Ward No. 58,
senior leaders and prominent citizens of the area.
