JAMMU DECEMBER -21:
MLA Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat today kick-started
blacktopping work on Johnu-Dhandal road in Chenani. The blacktopping work on 8
km stretch
has been taken up under NABARD at an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 crore by PWD
department.
Addressing the public after kick-starting the work, the
MLA said that it was the long pending demand of the locals, saying that with this scores of
villages of the areas would get better road connectivity leading to district
headquarter.
The MLA said that the
government has taken various measures for the overall development and to
ameliorate the socio-economic profile of people of these areas. He said that
the State government with the liberal funding from Union Government has started micro and mega
projects with special focus on upgrading road connectivity, provision of improved
drinking water and power supply in the Constituency. He also urged upon people
to come forward to avail the benefits of schemes launched by the government for
their welfare.
Dina Nath Bhagat said that work of blacktopping and
macadamization on various road projects in
the constituency has been taken
into hand and some of them is nearing completion, adding that work on the rest of the link
roads would also be started soon for the convenience of people. He said that
work of widening on Udhampur-Ghordi road would be started soon for which the tenders have been
floated.
Referring to widening of Chenani-Sudhmahadev road and
construction of tunnel on
the road to connect Doda, the MLA directed the NHAI and revenue authorities to
complete the survey work at the earliest to start the work on prestigious
project soon.
