Srinagar, Dec 7: Upping the ante at BJP over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at Dahod
during campaigning for Gujarat Assembly elections, former Jammu and Kashmir
chief minister Omar Abdullah said
the next time BJP leaders' lectures people about not
politicising the armed forces, they should remember this speech.
“The next time someone from the BJP lectures people about not politicising the armed forces they would do well to remember this speech,” Mr Abdullah, who is the working president of National Conference, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Mr Abdullah was reacting to Mr Modi’s speech in which he said the Army gave a befitting reply to Pakistan by carrying a surgical strike, but the Congress asked bizarre questions.
“Our jawans gave a befitting reply to Pakistan. But Congress asks bizarre questions why didn’t Indian jawans lose life in the surgical strike?” he said.
He asked whether Congress wanted Indian jawans to die. “Surgical strike by BJP was a massive success,” he added. UNI
