New Delhi, Dec 5: Continuing his offensive against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party in the run-up to the assembly elections in Gujarat, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday charged him with failing to control rise in the prices of essential commodities.
Posing the seventh in the series of questions being raised by him before the PM in the prelude to the Gujarat hustings, Mr Gandhi said that a sharp rise in prices of essential commodities had made life of the people in the state difficult.
'The public bore the brunt of the falsehood of 'jumlas' and the 'loot of demonetisation', the Goods and Services Tax squandered away the earnings. What was worse, the rising prices of commodities made the life of the people difficult. This BJP government is only for the rich,' Rahul said in a post on the social media.
Mr Gandhi had yesterday attacked the PM and the BJP on the Gujarat government's failure to ensure employment opportunities for youth and exploitation of contractual workers. UNI
