Srinagar, Dec 9: Train service resumed on Saturday after remaining suspended for security reasons in the Kashmir valley, where separatists had called for protests after Friday prayers against the US move to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
''We have resumed train service in the valley,'' a railway official.
He said all trains will run as per schedule from Srinagar-Badgam in the central Kashmir to Baramulla in north. Similarly, the trains will also chug on Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir Banihal in Jammu region track, he added.
He said rail service was suspended yesterday after receiving an advisory from the police. Railway department is acting on the advice of police and local administration.
Railway witnesses a major rush of passengers on Saturday as the people go to their homes to enjoy Sunday. 
Similarly, Monday also witnesses heavy rush when people are going to resume their normal activities after Sunday holiday. 
This was for the 46th time train service has been suspended partially or fully in the Kashmir valley for security reasons during this year.
Last year, the rail service was suspended for about six months due to summer unrest in the valley. UNI
