Chennai, Dec 2: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday promised all help to the Tamil
Nadu government in the search operations to trace the Kanniyakumari district
fishermen, who went missing during the Cyclone 'Ochki'.
When Mr Rajnath Singh spoke to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
Edappadi K Palaniswami and enquired about the damages caused by the cyclone,
the latter informed him that a majority of the fishermen, who had ventured into
the sea and were missing, were safely rescued, thanks to the coordinated
efforts by the fisheries department and the Coast Guard. The Chief Minister informed Mr Rajnath Singh that several
fishermen were still missing and also urged him to ensure that the Coast Guard
and theNavy continued to assist the State government in tracing them, besides
deployment of Coast Guard and Navy helicopters in search operations.
