New Delhi, Dec 29: The Rajya Sabha on Friday congratulated the scientists of Defence Research and
Development Organisation (DRDO) on successful test-fire of supersonic
interceptor ballistic missile, which hit the incoming ballistic missile at an
altitude of 15 km from a test range in Odisha on Thursday.
As soon as the House assembled for the Zero Hour, Chairman
Venkaiah Naidu said, "I on behalf of the House extend congratulations to
the scientists of DRDO."
He also expressed hope that the DRDO will continue its effort in making the defence system more strong in the days to come. The test is significant as for the first time that a woman scientist, Dr Shashikala Sinha, known as the 'new missile woman', conducted the highly complicated test successfully. UNI
