Delhi, Dec 1: The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a plea seeking probe
into Medical Council of India admission scam.
A three-judge bench, headed by Justice R K Aggarwal and also
comprising Justices Arun Mishra and A M Khanwilkar, did not find any merit in
the petition filed by Campaign for Judicial Accountability and Reforms (CJAR)
and imposed a fine of Rs 25 lakh on it.The petitioner had claimed some top court judges were also involved the admission scam, and therefore, this case should be thoroughly probed by a SIT.
"We did not find any merit in the petition filed by CJAR. So, we accordingly dismissed it," the bench said.
Last week, a similar petition, filed by noted Senior Supreme Court lawyer Kamini Jaiswal, was also dismissed by the Apex Court in the same case. UNI
