New Delhi, Dec 26: On the occasion of Christmas, Congress leader Manish Tewari took potshots
at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his decision to
demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes by describing him as a 'Santa
Claus' who, instead of putting money in people's socks, removed money from
their pockets and cupboards and left them only in their socks.
In a post on social media, Mr Tewari said,'All
over the world at this time an old man with a white beard creeps in your house through chimney and puts money in
your socks. In India, an old man with a white beard crept into your house
through TV, removed money from your pockets, cupboards, lockers and left you
only in your socks.'
The Congress has termed the decision of the Prime Minister to announce demonetisation a 'disaster' that pushed down the GDP of the country by nearly 2 per cent and left the economy shattered. UNI
