SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 26: Vice Chairman J&K Khadi and Village
Industries Board (KVIB) Mansoor Hussain Soharwardhy today convened a meeting
here to review the performance of the Board.
Secretary/CEO KVIB Rashid Ahmad Qadri, Deputy
Chief Executive Officer KVIB Kashmir Division and District Officers
of KVIB Kashmir
Division and other concerned attended the meeting.
The Vice Chairman was briefed about the progress on different fronts of
KVIB programmes. He was informed that the targets fixed under PMEGP by
the KVIC in respect
of Kashmir division
involving 948 cases and the margin money of Rs 18.74 crore stands achieved on
date.
Speaking
on the occasion, Soharwardhy
stated that programmes implemented by the Board especially under PMEGP have
caught the imagination of the educated unemployed youth of the state. He
further said that a large number of young entrepreneur aspirants are
approaching the Board for financial assistance to set up their own income
generating units.
Later, the VC
visited Martand chain stitch cluster Anantnag
to take first-hand progress on the said cluster. The district officers were
advised to provide more and more handholding support to the unemployed youth
and get more cases sanctioned from the banks so that Ministry of MSME can be approached to release
further funds under margin money for the State this fiscal.
The VC also informed that the Hard and Soft
interventions of two clusters under SFURTI namely, Martand chain stitch &
crewel embroidery cluster Anantnag
and Sukhnagsozni embroidery heritage cluster, Budgam is going on simultaneously.
