JAMMU, JANUARY 01: The first meeting of state level Sanctioning
and Monitoring committee (SLSMC) for entrepreneurship development and
employment Generation (EDEG) component of National Livestock Mission, was held
here under Chairmanship of commissioner secretary Animal/Sheep Husbandry R.K.
Bhagat.
The Meeting was also attended by Director Planning Animal/Sheep
husbandry, Directors of Kashmir and Jammu and senior officers of NABARD
Regional office Jammu and SLBC.
Taking stock of implementation of poultry venture capital scheme
and Integrated Development of Small Ruminants and Rabbits (IDSRR) under EDEG,
the chairman stressed upon the need to have focused attention on
simplifying the sponsoring and sanctioning procedure of the cases forwarded to the
banks and close coordination should be maintained between officials of banks
and animal/ sheep husbandry at field level in selecting genuine cases for
sponsoring and sanctioning.
The Chairman said that it would go a long way to encourage them
to establish units under the scheme. It was also decided that banks will accept
cases under the EDEG component only after they are endorsed by respective
district officers.
Meeting was informed that this year GOI has allotted Rs 4.44
crore as subsidy for the EDEG component to NABARD and SLSMC sanctioned 87 cases
under IDSRR and 113 cases under PVCFS.
