Directs to make necessary arrangements for firing hit people of
border areas
JAMMU, JANUARY 20: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood
Control Sham Lal Choudhary today visited various relief camps established in R
S Pura area for providing shelter to people affected in cross border firing in
Suchetgarh and R S Pura sectors.
The Minister visited Jajowal Agriculture Farm and took stock of
the arrangements put in place for people there. The people from Jeora Farm have
been shifted in Jajowal Agriculture Farm for their safe stay. He said that the
Government is aware about their problems at this hour of catastrophe and making
every effort for their safe and secure stay and to deal with the situation.
Responding to the demands of people at Jajowal Agriculture Farm,
the Minister said that adequate quantity of tents and blankets would be
provided to them for shelter, adding that the government would also
provide tents for their livestock. He directed the concerned for
providing ration on priority as per requirement of people of the camp. He
directed the concerned for installing 5 hand pumps in the camp for the
convenience of people.
Directing the concerned for assessing the damages caused to life,
livestock and other property in the area, the Minister also asked the concerned
for making arrangement of fodder for their livestock.
Earlier, Sham Choudhary visited CHC R S Pura and enquired about
the well being of injured persons. He directed the concerned for providing best
medicare to the injured for their early recovery. He also asked to make
available the ambulance service to ferry the injured to CHC R S Pura and
GMC&H.
It is worthwhile to mention here that two persons on each from
Kapoorpur and Bera succumbed to their injuries while as seven got injured have
been admitted in CHC R S Pura.
Later, Sham Choudhary visited Arnia town to take stock of the situation
arisen there due to cross border firing. There was great damages to business
establishments, residential houses and power infrastructure. The PHC Arnia has
been shifted to Kool Morh as two shells were exploded in its premises.
Inspecting the newly established health centre at Kool Morh, the
Minister directed the concerned to ensure availability of doctors and
paramedical staff round-the-clock in the health centre, besides
availability of ambulance.
Additional
Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, S P Rural, Jammu, SDM R S Pura accompanied the
Minister during the visit.
