New Delhi, Jan 16: Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday said his party would strive to provide all amenities for unauthorised colonies across the national capital and if needed his party would petition the Centre to amend the Constitution accordingly.
The party has also urged Union Home Mnister Rajnath Singh to provide them funds for the development of the unauthorised colonies, Mr Tiwari told a press conference after a meeting of the two-day Delhi BJP Executive Committee here.
Slamming the Delhi Government for its failure to notify 351 roads in the city, he said,'even after completing three years, the Arvind Kejriwal regime has asked for more time for the purpose. We will work for them (unauthorised colonies). For this purpose, we will not hesitate to take to the streets or sit on a dharna.'
The Delhi government has not fulfilled even one per cent of its 70 promises, made before the elections, he said adding that the party activists would go to every district and the booths to make the citizens aware of the fact.
Asked about unification of the three MCDs, the BJP MP said his party has voiced the matter in Parliament as well.
"Now we are concentrating on how we can improve the working culture in the civic bodies,'he said.
He said that during the Executive, the Home Minister assured the party activists that international borders of the country were secure. "The Central Government is working with security forces to destroy terrorism on the international borders and Left-wing Extremism in internal areas."
Mr Tiwari added that this Executive should be treated as a beginning of countdown to the 2019 general elections. UNI
