SAMBA, JANUARY 16:
District Employment & Counseling Centre (DE&CC), Samba today organized
a Career Guidance Programme for girl students at Govt Higher Secondary School
(GHSS), Vijaypur under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).
The programme was inaugurated by the District Development
Commissioner, Sheetal Nanda who emphasized the need of Career Guidance in today’s scenario especially for the girl
students so that the excel in the field of their choice.
During her interaction with students, she focused on importance of career
planning in the initial phase and encouraged them to go for higher goals in
their life like IAS, IPS, IFS, KAS and other professional domains.
Similar programmes shall be organized in each of the 15 GHSS
of the district by the District Employment and Counseling Centre, Samba where
girl students will be introduced to career options after schooling. The main
emphasis is on the idea that a career should be chosen based on one’s aptitude and skills rather than
decisions as a result of peer or any other influence.
The programme will be having subject matter specialists, who
will interact with students and guide them accordingly. A special Career
Booklet for the purpose having complete details of career options, related
training institutes and websites has also been prepared which will be provided
to all girl students. Guidance about twenty different career options available
for students after 12th& Graduation were imparted through Power Point
Presentation. The programmes are being held under the supervision of Assistant
Director DE&CC, Naresh Kumar.
Chief Education Officer Samba Ram Paul, Principal Neeta
Sambyal, Young Professional Rahul Vohra, Career Counseling Officer Dushant
Singh and school staff members were present on the occasion.
About 60 girl’s
participated in today’s
programme.
