RAJOURI, JANUARY 16- The
2nd round of training Programme for
Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) for the
upcoming Panchayat elections concluded here today.
The training programme was organised under the guidance of
District Panchayat Election Officer Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.
A total of 220 ROs and AROs were given training in the two
day programme.
The training sessions included detailed discussion on
various processes involved in poll process namely nomination, scrutiny,
withdrawal, actual polling and counting etc. Detailed presentations were given
to ROs and AROs so that they are better equipped with all the provisions of
Panchayat Raj Act, 1989 and Rules. Besides, practical demonstration about
duties of presiding and polling officers was given by Master Trainers and the
working of ballot papers was also explained to the trainees so that they will further
give training to polling parties.
Deputy District Election Officer Shrikant Suse said the
training will certainly help them for smooth conduct of elections.
Nodal Officer for training management Dr.Abdul Khabir said
that team work will be key for successful conduct of election.
The training was imparted by master trainers including Prof.
Haqeekat Singh Ishar, Prof. Naseem Ahmed, Prof. Iqbal Raina, Bilal Ahmed Mir AD
planning and Sanjay Kumar Suri, Principal Govt HSS Kalakote.
Pertinently, 435 ROs and AROs appointed in 19 blocks, 312
panchayat and 2394 Panchayat constituencies including officers from different
Departments such as education, Revenue, Irrigation, Flood control, Animal
Husbandry, RDD attended the Training
Programme.
