Ahmedabad, Jan 9: Four members of a family, including an infant and his parents, were killed when
a fire broke out in a grocery store in Naranapura area of the city on Tuesday
morning, police said.
The deceased were identified as store owner Sunil Chaudhary
(36), his wife Leela (31), brother Mohan (30) and son Arjun (2).
The incident occurred when the provision store in Vardan Tower of the locality, caught fire and the blaze later spread to the house. Sunil's home housed the grocery store.
The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained and goods kept in the provision store were reduced to ashes, police added.
On seeing Sunil, who managed to come out of the store and fainted on the road, locals informed the police and fire department.
The fire team controlled the blaze and brought out the other three people trapped inside. They were admitted to hospital where all of them died, police added. UNI
