New security layer is like locking stable door after horses have bolted: Chidambaram

New Delhi, Jan 11: Reacting to the proposal of Aadhaar adding a new security layer, senior Congress leader and former Finance minister P Chidambaram on Thursday said it was like locking the stable door after the horses have bolted.

'Under compulsion, millions of persons have already shared Aadhaar number with many service providers. New security layer is like locking the stable after horses have bolted,' Mr Chidambaram said in a post on the social media.
The reaction by the Congress leader came after reports that Aadhaar plans to add a fresh security layer with a 16 digit 'Virtual ID'. UNI
