Jan 19: The Calangute Police in North Goa has registered offence of ATM
skimming against Delhi gangsters who were arrested on Wednesday last.
According to Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, in-charge of
Calangute Police Station, Calangute police received a complaint of ATM skimming
from one Lekhraj Mashelkar, legal advisor of Hitachi Services, that one Yes
Bank ATM machine at Porbowado, Calangute, had been fixed with a skimmer.Accordingly police examined the CCTV footage and to their surprise found that that they were the same gangsters who were arrested on Wednesday as they were required by Delhi Police in an attempt to murder case.
Police further upon verification, recorded the complaint and attached the skimmer device fixed to the ATM card reader. Calangute police immediately got the custody of the accused persons for further interrogation in the ATM skimming.
During the custodial interrogation all the accused --Vipin Sunil Dagar (24), Praveen Surjay Dagar (23), both residents of Jharoda Kalan, New Delhi, and Ajay Kumar Ahlawat (22), resident of Barhana, Jhajjar, Haryana, confessed their involvement in tampering the ATM machine by fixing a skimmer.
Police conducted panchnama under section 27 of Indian Evidence Act and recovered a Hyundai Creta car and from the car recovered IP cameras, two batteries and circuits which were used for setting a skimmer device. The vehicle was attached into the crime. UNI
