New Delhi, Jan 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted the all-women crew of INSV Tarini after it sailed past Cape Horn, its designated point on the southern tip of South America.
'Wonderful news! Delighted that INSV Tarini has rounded Cape Horn in the last few hours. We are extremely proud of their accomplishments,' the Prime Minister said on twitter, the micro blogging site.
The triumphant six-women crew on board the Indian Naval Sailing Vessel posted a photo of their achievement crossing Cape Horn, termed as 'the Mount Everest of sailing'.
The women crew hoisted the Indian tri-colour with great pride onboard INSV Tarini as she crossed the Cape Horn.
According to Indian Navy reports, the Tarini sailed through rough sea and strong winds gusting at 70kmph. UNI
