New Delhi, Jan 19: The BJP on Friday welcomed the reported recommendation of the Election Commission (EC) suggesting that 20 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs be disqualified on the issue of 'Office of Profit' and said the poll panel has in effect shown "the mirror" to Arvind Kejriwal and his party.
This recommendation has shown "mirror" to the AAP leadership which allegedly thrived on the politics of "anarchy", BJP spokesman Sambit Patra told reporters here.
He also said the AAP reactions criticising EC shows "a sense of guilt" on the part of Mr Kejriwal and his party.
The BJP reaction comes close on the heels the AAP spokesman Saurabh Bhardwaj said the poll panel did not give 'chance' to the party legislators to present their case.
Mr Patra said in 2015 the AAP government tried to give protection to the questionable MLAs by bringing a law in "retrospective effect".
"Such a thing probably happened for the first time," he alleged. UNI
