New Delhi, Jan 4: Dissident Aam Aadmi Party leader Kapil Mishra on Thursday urged party MLAs to challenge the decision taken by its top brass regarding the Rajya Sabha nominees and asked them to file independent nominations.
The AAP yesterday announced that Sanjay Singh, ND Gupta and Sushil Gupta will be its candidates for the biennial elections to the Upper House of Parliament from Delhi.
Mr Mishra, a suspended party leader and former Delhi Minister, accused AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal of selling the RS seats.
Alleging that it was a back door entry into Parliament, Mr Mishra said in an allusion to the selection of Sushil Gupta that such a thing will not be tolerated.
'People of Delhi have not elected the 67 MLAs to make Sushil Gupta sit in Parliament', Mr Mishra tweeted.
The Karawal Nagar MLA, along with his supporters on Thursday went to Raj Ghat, and has asked the people of Delhi to challenge the decision.
According to media reports, Sushil Gupta has sent legal notices to BJP MP from West Delhi Parvesh Verma, Kapil Mishra and Delhi BJP's Harish Khurana for 'defamation' over the allegations against him for paying money against the RS seat.
Mr Mishra said that he was not scared of any such notice and asserted that it was 'defamation' of the citizens of Delhi.
Mr Mishra further said that the only eligibility of such a nominee was 'money' nothing else.
'If saying the truth defames them, then I will say it a hundred times, not scared of any notice', Kapil Mishra said in a tweet.
Another AAP RS candidate ND Gupta told a news channel that the allegation of selling tickets in lieu of money was 'baseless' and false.
He also said that he has been associated with the party and not been para dropped. UNI
