Delhi, Jan 16: The Congress on Tuesday termed 'sad' and 'deplorable' the
statement by an RSS leader in which he said the press conference by the four
Supreme Court judges was a political conspiracy.
In a post on social media, AICC media in charge Randeep
Surjewala said, 'Sad & deplorable! BJP attacks judiciary through RSS
functionaries. All the ‘Nation’ wants is the issues raised by the senior most
judges to be resolved, but for which ‘democracy’ is in peril. BJP Govt should
help resolution then muddle & polarise.'
Days after four senior judges had targetted Chief Justice Dipak Misra, a senior RSS leader claimed that there was a political conspiracy behind the much-debated press conference on January 12.
'What ‘they have done is unforgivable’ because ‘they have tried to attack the uncompromising faith of the people in the judicial system,' RSS leader J Nandakumar said while attacking the four top judges, Justices J Chelameswar, Ranjan Gogoi, M B Lokur and Kurian Joseph over the press conference.
