JAMMU, JANUARY 15: Minister
for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today laid foundation
for a tube well at village Sai in Suchetgarh Constituency besides inaugurating
lane and drain at village Nekowal constructed at a cost of Rs. 9.5 lakh under
Cluster Model Village programme.

were present on the occasion.
Complementing the locals after laying
foundation stone for Rs. 73 lakh tube well, the Minister said that the water of
the tube well will be used for irrigation purposes and will provide water
supply to 80 acres of land in the village.
Calling for concerted efforts in
preservation of water resources, the Minister stressed on the need for
judicious use of water. He said that the government is committed to provide
basic amenities including adequate water and power supply to people of the
state and is working in this direction with utmost devotion. He sought
cooperation of the people in making the programmes of the government successful
and result oriented.
Referring to various developmental
works under execution in Suchatgarh Block, Sham Choudhry said that the works on
various micro and macro development projects are apace in the area and the
Centre and the state Government is keen to improve the socio-economic condition
of the people living in border areas.
Enroute, the Minster visited Government
Higher Secondary School Suchetgarh and inspected the ongoing work of office
block of the school. He directed the concerned for completing the works like “whitewashing” of all blocks and levelling of the
play ground of the school at the earliest.
