Shimla, Jan 2: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday credited his appointment to the post of Chief Minister to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah.
While addressing a gathering at Ghannahatti, Mr Thakur asserted that in the next five-years people of the state would see development.
He said that the Central government had assured all possible assistance for development.
'We are here to serve the people and not to boast unnecessarily”, he said.
Mr Thakur accepted that there was a close contest in rural Shimla belt in recently concluded state Assembly polls and assured that the BJP will focus more on these areas.
On the demand of the people of opening a 'Marketing Yard' at Ghannahatti, the Chief Minister asked to submit a memorandum in this regard.
He also attended upon the grievances at Hotel Baghal near Darlaghat.
Mr Thakur was here on his maiden two-day tour to Bilaspur and Mandi after becoming the Chief Minister. He was accorded warm welcome at Bilaspur, Totu, Boileauganj, Ghannahatti, Halog and Darlaghat. UNI
