Medinipur/Kolkata, Feb 14: West Bengal Police sub-inspector Rajshekhar Pyne, arrested last night in an extortion case of 2016, was today being produced before a local court by the CID, which already arrested two other police officers and now on a nation wide hunt to arrest former IPS officer Bharati Ghosh and her security guard.
The CID, recently had searched Rajshekhar Pyne's houses at Daspur in West Medinipur and Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas, arrested the police official after hours of interrogation in West Medinpur last night. 
The SI has been accused of cheating Rs 45 lakh from a businessman Unis Ali Mondal of Swaroopnagar of North 24 Parganas in 2016, when he was OC of Kharagpur police station.
The businessman claimed that he was traveling on his bother car, which had an accident on NH 6 on September 24, 2016. They had two bags with Rs 45 lakh while being rescues by the policemen. But they got back only the car.
The CID would pray for two weeks custody during production of the arrested police officer, who presently posed at Mohonpur in West Medinipur.
The CID has already arrested two police officers SI Chitta Pal and circle inspector Shuvankar Dey last week also on extortion cases after recovered Rs 56 lakh from their houses.
The CID also on a nation-wide hunt to arrest former IPS officer Bharati Ghosh following her alleged skipping of several CID summons on an extortion case in West Medinipur district, her last posting before she quit the job at end of last December.
The former IPS officer accused of extortion, intimidation and cheating after a jewelry trader Chandan Majhi at Keshpur filed an FIR with local police station in West Medinipur.
Bharati Ghosh was an IPS officer of West Bengal cadre, resigned at end of last year after the state government posted her to Barrackpore after her five years stint in West Medinipur, Meanwhile, husband of Bharati Ghosh, MVA Raju, reportedly move into Calcutta High court for anticipatory bail. UNI
