New Delhi, Feb 6: Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures has joined hands with Director Shree Narayan Singh to bring to the silver screen, the real life story of Milkman of India--Dr Verghese Kurien, trade sources said on Tuesday.
Balaji Motion Pictures has acquired the film rights for the book 'I Too Had A Dream', which chronicles the life of Dr Kurien, who dedicated his life to develop the milk industry of India.
Ekta, better known as the small screen Queen, for having ruled the TV industry in 2000s, with as many as eight programmes airing simultaneously on different entertainment channels, has roped in director Shree Narayan Singh to helm this inspirational social drama on the man behind the White revolution.
Speaking about the ambitious project, the successful producer said, "Balaji always strives to bring interesting stories on screen, and the story of Dr Verghese Kurien is not only engaging, but extremely inspiring too. I am delighted to collaborate with Narayan Singh to tell the story of a true visionary.
'The movie will talk about not just making profits and being a huge enterprise, but also about Dr Kurien's role in empowering the general public, especially women, at the grassroot level. Dr Kurien was a visionary businessman, philanthropist and a great human. He wanted to study nuclear engineering, but ended up in the dairy industry,' Mr Singh said. UNI
