Govt committed to provide education at students’ doorstep: Sham Choudhary

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 21: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today said that it is endeavor of the present dispensation to ensure further improvement in the education set up and enhancing the literacy rate in the State. The Government has taken several initiatives to bring education at the doorstep of the students, especially in the rural and far-flung areas. 

Speaking after inaugurating a Play way School at village Gagianin R.S. Pura today, the Minister said that the education plays a key role in the development and overall personality of the citizens, therefore this sector is the prime focused area of the Government. He called upon the people to send their wards in schools to provide quality education so that they become responsible and respectable citizens and contribute equally for the development and betterment of the country and society.

Lauding the role of private sector in education field, the Minister said that private players are playing important role in spreading the quality education and supplementing the government efforts. He said government wants to promote this important sector further and committed to provide all kinds of supports to private players.

Calling upon the school management to impart quality education as per modern trends, the Minister stressed for providing moral education and co-curricular activities to the children to ensure their overall fitness and personality.   He also asked the management to adopt underprivileged children of the area so that they can also get access to quality education.

Several prominent personalities of the areas, besides teachers, management and parents of the students were also present on the occasion.
