New Delhi, Feb 22: India and Canada on
Thursday held high-level talks and agreed to work to strengthen relations in
trade and investment and also issues related to security and people to people
contacts.
The bilateral issues came up for deliberations between two sides when External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met her Canadian counterpart Chrystia Freeland at the Foreign MInisters level Strategic Dialogue between the two countries.
"The two plural democracies are keen to build upon the strong complementarities of our existing strategic partnership," tweeted MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar.
Both the ministers held wide ranging discussions on strengthening relations in trade and investment, security and cyber security, energy, people to people contacts and other relevant bilateral and regional issues, the MEA spokesman said.
During her stay in India, Ms Chrystia Freeland is also likely to hold talks with the Union Commerce Minister Suresh Pabhu. UNI
