Srinagar, Feb 22: Pakistani troops on Thursday violated the ceasefire in Uri sector of north Kashmir district of Baramulla, resorting to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing from across the border targeting forward posts, a defence ministry spokesman said.
Defence spokesman Lt Colonel Rajesh Kalia told,'The firing started at 0800 hrs and was still going on. Our troops also retaliated,' he said. 
The exchange of fire was going on when the reports last came in and details are awaited, he added.
On Monday, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire, targeting civilian areas in which three villagers, including a woman, were injured.
A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was martyred when Pakistani troops fired from a sniper rifle from across the LoC on February 20 at Tangdhar. UNI
