Sonamura, Feb 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address two election rallies at Muslim dominated bordering town Sonamura of West Tripura and Kailashahar of North Tripura on Feb 8 next in first phase.
The BJP Tripura state in-charge Sunil Deodhar today said Modi will hold the rally at the constituency of BJP Vice President Subal Bhowmik – next to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s constituency Dhanpur in Sepahijala district in Sonamura College ground.
In Sonamura, about one lakh attendance from three districts – Sepahijala, Gomati and South Tripura have been targeted, while Kailashahar rally will be attended by the voters of North Tripura, Unokoti and Dhalai district in the afternoon, Deodhar said referring their plan of rallies subject to approval of PMO.
However, police said to ensure foolproof security during Prime Minister’s visit, a team of SPG has already arrived in the state and visited the proposed venues. They have reviewed the security arrangement and protocol of the prime minister with the local administration in both the districts.
Prime Minister Modi will come by a special flight from New Delhi in the morning at Agartala. After a break in the airport, he will fly down to Sonamura by chopper. He will have lunch in Sonamura and then fly to Kailashahar. In the evening, after meeting with the local leaders, Modi will leave for Delhi.
He is scheduled make his second visit on Feb 14 or 15 next to hold a road show followed by a rally at Agartala seeking vote for BJP candidates of the state. Besides, Prime Minister, BJP chief Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Finance Minister Arun Jaitely, Defense Minister Nirmala Sitaraman and Road Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari will address rallies and attend road shows in different parts of the state. UNI
