Conducts various Public Durbars, inspected ongoing
works
KUPWARA, MARCH 17: Continuing its Public Outreach program in Kupwara
district, Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice Abdul
Haq Khan Saturday visited
various hamlets of Kupwara district and interacted with the people to take
firsthand account of the problems faced by them.
The Minister conducted Public Darbar at Thyen
Kalaroos and Payrpora Haihama wherein the people apprised minister about
various grievances and sought early their early redressal. Various delegations flagged their issues with
regard to availability of pure drinking water, Electricity, installation of
transformers, Ration, construction of roads and drains etc.
Minister said the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is keen
to mitigate the problems of the people
living especially in far flung areas and instead of people coming to Civil
Secretariat, we (ministers) have been asked to visit the people at
their doorstep to know their problems and take appropriate action to mitigate
their problems.
During the visit to various villages, minister
inspected various ongoing developmental projects and directed the officials to
expedite the work so that it can be completed well in time. The minister also
visited various health centres and hospitals and interacted with the staff and
the patients to get feedback about the healthcare facilities being provided to
the people.
The Minister also interacted with general public
and discussed several matters regarding availability of different facilities.
He assured the public that all the areas of the state would be provide all
basic facilities at their door steps.
Responding to the demands raised by deputations,
the Minister assured them that he would take up the issues with the concerned
Departments for their early redressal. He said that the Government is committed
to development of rural and far flung areas. “To
meet the goal, several schemes and programs have already been undertaken under
R&B, PDD, PHE, Health, RDD and other sectors”
he said and urged the people to take full advantage of various state and
centrally sponsored schemes.
He said that the dream of Chief Minister about
Rural Development Department will come true only when all the flagship
programmes of the department are implemented in letter and spirit and all the
stakeholders work with dedication, cooperation and honesty.
