Bengaluru, Mar 3: With election to Karnataka Assembly just two months away, the BJP has zeroed in on a large house for party Supremo Amit Shah in the heart of the city to enable his stay to ensure unseating of Congress in its last bastion in the country.
Top BJP sources on Saturday said that the party had scouted different places for the Party Chief who would stay put for most part of his time in Karnataka in run up to election possibly to be held during May first week. So the party had fixed the six bedroom luxury house, just a stone throw away from Vidhana Soudha the seat of power in the State.
Earlier reports had said that Mr Shah would pick a home near Bengaluru International Airport, not to disturb the road traffic in the city for most part on weekdays. However, later three venues were shortlisted.
Ultimately the three floor house at Chalukya Circle, less than 200 meters from Vidhana Soudha has been picked, sources said.
The other two destinations were in posh Dollar’s colony and Kumara Park. But due to security reasons this villa was picked.
Incidentally, mining baron G Janardhana Reddy owns a luxury apartment nearby in this area. He has remained a die-hard BJP leader and has vowed to defeat the Congress in Karnataka, even if he do not contest the Assembly election.
Mr Shah would come stay in this home by March end and take over all action and activities before the election and hold important meetings from this venue which has space for about 50 people sit and discuss the party strategy. UNI
