New Delhi, Mar 7: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an income tax officer
and an advocate of Farukkhabad Uttar Pradesh for taking bribe.
According to the probe agency sources, a
complaint was received against an income tax officer Sanjay Jain of Badpur
Farukkhabad, and advocate Pramod Sharma for demanding a bribe of Rs 1,50,000,
following which a case was registered.
The CBI laid a trap and caught the said persons red-handed while they were accepting the bribe.
Both of them were arrested, CBI sources said here on Wednesday.
Further, the CBI is conducting raids at places in Farukkhabad and Kanpur, linked to these two persons.
They are being produced before a special court in Lucknow on Wednesday. UNI
