Bengaluru, Mar 7: Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Wednesday said investigation into the
murder of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh by the Special Investigation Team
(SIT) was nearing completion and a chargesheet will be filed in the court soon.
Police had arrested one Navin Kumar, a gun
runner who is alleged to have supplied the country made pistol and ammunition
used in the murder.
When asked whether Navin was the real culprit, the Minister said he would not like to interfere in the SIT investigation and the team will come out with more facts soon.
He said police team had definite clues on the culprits.
Ms Lankesh was shot dead by an assailant in front of her house on September 5 last year when she was returning from her office of the tabloid she was publishing. UNI
