SRINAGAR, MARCH 16: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) today imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 against a readymade garment store for selling school uniforms without proper labelling.
The fine was imposed after the department received a complaint from a customer that a readymade garment store at Lal-Chowk was selling the school uniforms without proper labelling.
Under Legal Metrology laws, every ready-made garment in packed form must carry the obligatory declaration of MRP (Inclusive of all taxes) , Size in centimetres (cm), description of product, customer care details, month and year of manufacture and name of the manufacturing company/ packing firm/marketing agency with complete address.
