New Delhi, Mar 12: The Supreme Court on Monday asked the real estate company, Unitech, to furnish
all their details of their unencumbered assets including personal assets so
that these can be put to auction later for raising money to ensure that
homebuyers got their money.
The apex court imposed a cost of Rs 25-lakh on JM finanacial
Assest Reconstruction Company for "giving a wrong impression and diverting
its attention from the homebuyers issue."
A three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra and also comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud was hearing the submissions and arguments by the promoter, Sanjay Chandra and homebuyers lawyers.
Chandra, who is presently lodged in the jail for not refunding money and not giving flats to homebuyers at the right time, is constantly seeking interim bail from the apex court.
The court had earlier said and directed one of the co-developers to deposit Rs 30-crore by March. Further Rs 10-crore by mid-April would have to be deposited. The money deposited would be used for homebuyers of Gurgoan project. UNI
