Mumbai, Mar 26: The BSE sensex on Monday spurted by 469.87 points to breach 33K level to 33,066.41 on positive Asian Market on reports of easing trade war fears between US and China.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 132.60 points at 10,130.65.
The sensex fell by 60 points to open at 32,536.44. It slipped by 81 points to 32,515.17 a days low.
After noon trade, it jumped by nearly 519 poitns to 33,115.41 day high and closed at 33,066.41 up by 469.87 points from its last close.
The Nifty recorded day's high and low at 10,143.50 and 9,958.55 points respectively.
Mid cap rose by 119 pc and Small-cap gained by 0.73 pc.
In sectoral indices, Finance, Telecom, Bankex, Realty and Auto pushed the market up while selling in Oil and Gas and IT capped from further gain, broker informed.
In scrips, Yes Bank, SBIN, HDFC Bank, Tata Steel and HDFC advanced while Wipro, Infosys and Tata Motors DVR declined that capped from further gain.
The breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was negative. On BSE, 1,564 shares declined and 1,187 shares advanced. A total of 176 shares were unchanged.
The total turnover on BSE amounted to Rs 6973.14 crore, higher than the turnover of Rs 3393.42 crore registered during the previous trading session. (UNI)
