Mar 6: A youth was arrested from Bhiwandi taluka of the district on Monday on the alleged charges of murder of another over property dispute,
police said.
The deceased was identified as Pankaj Mahtre (30), police said.
In a complaint filed by the wife of the victim, living with her mother-in-law at Kalher village. The accused, Mogesh Mhatre (23), cousin of the victim was residing in her house.
Mogesh used to fight with the family of victim over several issues and abused them
and gave threats that he would kill them, the complaint stated.
Hearing a scream, she went out and saw her husband lying in a pool of blood around 2030 hrs on Monday.
He had several stab wounds and rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Being taken to the hospital, the victim informed here wife that one of the accused Abishek Joshi (22) held him by his hand and another accused Mogesh Mhatre (23) stabbed him several times with the sharp knife inflicting several stab wounds on him, police said.
Abhishek Joshi has been arrested while the search was on for Mogesh Mhatre, police added. UNI
