Sidhi, MP, Apr 18: Twenty-one people were
killed and 25 others injured when their mini-truck fell into the Son River in
Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi District last night, police said.
“The mini-truck was conveying members of a wedding procession from Singrauli's
Deosar to Sidhi's Bahri last night when it rammed into a railing on the Jogdaha
Bridge and fell into the river,” said Superintendent of Police Manoj
Srivastava.
Senior police and administrative officials rushed to the scene. Relief and rescue operations were launched. As many as 21 bodies were pulled out by 0400 hrs. The deceased, who included all men, were yet to be identified. The bodies were sent to post-mortem. The injured were admitted to the District Hospital. UNI
