Srinagar, Apr 3 : Militants killed a person after injuring his mother-in-law and her two children
in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, a police spokesman said
here Tuesday afternoon.
He said on Monday night at about 2210 hrs, four militants, believed
to be affiliated with Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT), barged into the house Farooq Ahmad
Parray at Par Mohalla at Hajin in Bandipora. “Militants fired indiscriminately inside the house,” he said, adding when the inmates raised an alarm, militants attacked them with sharp edged weapons.
Rafeeqa, the wife of house owner Farooq Ahmad Parary, daughter Neelofar and son Hilal Ahmad Parray were injured in the attack while his son in law Naseer Ahmad Sheikh was abducted.
The injured, who were hit by sharp edged weapons, were rushed to local hospital from where they were referred to Srinagar, where the condition of Rafeeqa is critical.
Security forces immediately rushed to the area and conducted searches, he said, adding the militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
He said the bullet-riddled body of Sheikh was recovered from a nallah in Baghat Mohalla Shahgund in Bandipoira on Tuesday.
