Congress, BJP continue with Twitter war

Bengaluru, Apr 12: The two major contenders for the next government in Karnataka, the ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata party are finding newer ways to counter each other and social media, especially the tweeter handle. with a wider reach among the internet savvy voters is playing a dominant role.
The two parties hurtle acquisitions and jibes against each other with the latest being one from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who in a tweet today said ‘’issues before the Karnataka Elections are Constitutional democracy and its survival, development with social justice and fulfilling the aspirations of the youth. We will defeat Anant Kumar Hegde and his likes who have declared that BJP is in power to change the Constitution.’’
Pat came a reply from the BJP which said that Congress speaking of protecting Constitution was akin to Osama Bin Laden Speaking for world peace. ‘’ You may keep chanting about need to protect Constitution, but people won't forget the history of utter disregard shown to constitutional values by Congress’’.
The two parties have set up separate social media groups to monitor and respond besides posting tweets to woo voters. UNI
