BANDIPORA, APRIL 27: District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Khursheed Ahmad Sanai, today inaugurated the district-level inter-zonal football championship organized under the centrally sponsoredLet's Play Khelo India scheme aimed at the development of sports and sportspersons, including boys and girls, under the age of 19.
      Senior Superintendent of Police, Shiekh Zulfikar Azad, In-charge Sports Activities YSS Bandipora, Khursheed Shaheen, besides sportspersons and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
      As many as 16 teams of Sumbal, Hajin, Bandipora and Quill Muqam educational zones are participating in the championship. The first match was played between Bandipora and Sumbal zones involving age groups from 6 to 12 years.
       Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that Bandipora is doing very well in the field of sports even as he urged the youth, especially school going students, to participate in sports activities and earn laurels for themselves and the State. He assured them of all possible support from the district administration and sports activities in far flung and rural areas also.
