SRINAGAR, APRIL 24: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan
today convened a meeting to review the beautification plan of Srinagar city
devised for Zero Bridge, Sonwar and Rajbagh areas.
The meeting was attended by DDC Srinagar, IG CRPF,
Director Radio Kashmir and officials from concerned departments.
The beautification plan was earlier financed by
Minister for Tourism Tassaduq Mufti and today Div Com reviewed the status of
the works already undertaken.
The Div Com said that any encumbrance on the roads
needs to be removed at the earliest. He said that random signboards and
shabbily erected advertisement boards need to be removed as they interfere with
the aesthetics of the city.
He said that encroachment of all sorts needs to be
removed so that commuters and motorists move freely on the roads.
Khan also directed the officials to work in tandem
with different departments to beautify the entire area and implement all
decision as have been directed by the Tourism Minister previously.
