JAMMU, APRIL 13: Minister
for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today said the coalition
government is working under a well-knit strategy to ensure overall development
of the state with special emphasis on rural and far-flung areas.
The Minister said this after kick-starting the
development works including blacktopping of 2km road at village BurjTanda at an
estimated cost of Rs. 40 lakh and one km road at Gudwal to be constructed at an
estimated cost of Rs. 20 lakh.
The locals apprised the Minister about their
demands related to power supply, water supply, road connectivity, education,
healthcare and sanitation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that
all genuine demands of the people pertaining to the development of the area would
be redressed in a phased manner and people would witness the change on ground.
Stressing on the need to create durable assets,
Ganga directed the officers of the concerned departments to closely monitor the
quality of work and ensure timely completion of the works.
The Minister asserted that durable roads and
enhanced infrastructure tops the development agenda of the present dispensation
and focus is being laid on upgrading and improving the road network in rural
and remote areas.
