JAMMU, APRIL 14: Governor N.N. Vohra, Chancellor of the Shri Mata
Vaishno Devi University, reviewed the progress of the various infrastructural
development projects which are underway in the Campus. He visited the New Girls
Hostel; Staff Residential Quarters and extension of the University’s
Guest House. He also visited the Basohli Hostel to view the installation of the
solar panels on the roof of the building. Governor directed urgent completion
of the entire Solar Power project so that it is commissioned by the end of this
month.
It is pertinent to note that this University has
become the first Academic Campus in J&K to have a 900 Kilo Watt Solar Power
Plant, a step initiated towards its becoming a ‘Green
Campus’. Governor asked Vice Chancellor to enlarge the
Solar Power Project to raise 2MW power, to fully cover the entire power
requirement of the University.
