Kolkata, Apr 4: In
a joyful celebration of cultural diversity on the first day of the Commonwealth
Games in Gold Coast, hundreds of students from India and other countries formed
a symbolic 'Human Rainbow' this morning.
With the rising sun providing a stunning backdrop at the
iconic Kurrawa Beach — in the Gold Coast suburb of Broadbeach, Australia — the
rainbow was a moving acknowledgment of multicultural strength and acceptance.
It was especially fitting given the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games officially
begins today.
The 'Human Rainbow' was part of Study Gold Coast’s Embracing Diversity campaign, which is showing the world why the Gold Coast is the ideal destination for domestic and international students.
The Gold Coast is currently home to 25,000 international students from 130 nationalities and was recently named as Australia’s number one regional study destination.
There are currently 68,000 Indian students in Australia — a seven-year high — with the Gold Coast’s Bond University recording one of the nation’s largest student increases in 2017. India is one of the top five countries in the Gold Coast’s international student cohort. UNI
