New Delhi, Apr 11: The Congress on Wednesday slammed the Manohar Lal Khattar government for including in the students admission forms a category where students were expected to mention whether their parents were 'engaged in unclean profession.'
Taking to twitter, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala questioned the need for students to disclose if their parents were engaged in 'unclean profession'.
"BREAKING! Khattar Govt does it again. Students labelled as 'untouchables' & their parents occupation as 'unclean'" he tweeted.
"Govt, taking a cue from NaMo App, issues a 100 pointer student admission form. Since when has Aadhar become mandatory for school admission?"'
In a series of tweets, Mr Surjewala said, 'Surveillance has now become the NDA of the BJP. Whether it be through the NAMO application or through some other form, collecting date of individuals has become a part of their culture.
The Khattar government has sought all kinds of information from students through its student admission form.
This is not a student admission form but a 'parent surveillance form'. Why does the Khattar Government want information of bank account of the parents of the students. Is it not indulging in racial profiling or religious profiling?'
Mr Surjewala demanded that the state government apologise to the people of the state for the form and immediately withdraw it. UNI
